Shift Policies

The shift policies section allows you to see the shift policies that are applied to employees within the system.

The list shows the policy name, number of employees it applies to and the date it was last applied.

To view a policy, you can select one from the list and it will take you to the record where it can be edited or applied to more employees.


To add a new shift policy, please follow the steps below:

  1. Select Shift Policies from Employee menu
  2. Select Add Shift Policy
  3. Fill in the required fields:

    Reference Name The name of the pattern used throughout the system.
    *Note that this is automatically generated.
    Shift Colour Set a colour for the shift using the colour picker.
    Number of Weeks The number of weeks the policy applies to, click the arrows to increase and decrease the amount.
    Use FTE of 1 for this Shift Policy? This will show the FTE as 1 when on the Configuration tab of the employee's profile.
    Group Name Apply a Group Name to categorise you shift policies. You can add shifts into a group for easier access, which can then be filtered on the Shift Policy page.
    Shift Patterns Set a shift pattern for week(x). To do so, click select and you will be shown a dropdown box from which an existing shift pattern can be chosen. These patterns can be added by clicking the < and > arrows a certain number of times.
    Applies To Use the dropdown box to search for and select employees to apply the shift policy to
