From the Question Definitions view you will see a list of existing questions that can be accessed to
be edited by selecting them.
Moreover you can create a new question by selecting the (+) icon at the top of the screen:
Create Question Definition
On the following screen, you will then need to complete a number of fields outlined in the table below:
Definition Type | Defines what part of the appraisal you would like the employee to see the question. |
Order (numeric) | Decide in which order the question definitions appear. |
Text | This is the main part of the question, e.g., "What is Pi?" |
Question Description | A place to give more detailed information about the text. E.g., Please round Pi to 6 decimal spaces. |
Question Type | Lets you choose the answering method for this question. E.g., Text would be a normal text box, Large Text will show a larger text area to allow for lengthier answers. |
You may also decide to add additional fields for the appraisee and appraiser to add comments to accompany any answers given to the questions you define.
Display comments box? | Adds a comment box beneath the answer field for the question. |
Display appraiser comments box? | Adds a comment box labelled 'Appraiser Comments' beneath the answer field. This is in addition to the comments box above if both are enabled. |
Mandatory question? | Selecting Yes makes the question mandatory and prevents the appraisee/appraiser from submitting the form until the question is complete. |
Inherit answer (from last appraisal)? | Inherits the answer to the same question from the previous appraisal for the employee. |
At the bottom of the screen there is an Applies To section, this is used to set who can see this question.
You can limit the questions down to departments, employee type and employee level.
Once finished creating the question just click Save to create the new question for the appraisals.
