Unplanned Absence Types

It is possible for the Administration team to define the Absence types applicable when reporting an employee as absent using the Report Absence feature.

To add a new Absence Type, begin by navigating to the Administration section and expanding the Absence menu.

1. Select Absence Types > Add Absence Type.mceclip0.png

2. On the following screen, set the parameters outlined below:

    1. Start by giving your new Absence Type a name in the Title of Absence field.
    2. Next, assign a Return To Work Category.
      • This will define how the Return To Work process is handled for this Absence Type.
    3. You can choose to add a Sub Type.
      • Sick - Orthopaedic, Sick - Cold/Flu and Sick - Gastrointestinal are common examples of this in practice.
    4. Decide which employees this Absence Type applies to.
      • This can be applied by Departments, Teams, Public Holiday Categories & Employment Policy.
    5. Finally, click Save to add your new absence type to the list.
