Managing Employment Settings

Although not entirely deserving of its own section, the Employment Settings define Length of Service (LOS) accruals, which is how long a person has to work at a company until they receive a certain amount of leave allocation. Additional settings are available which also determine the allocation.

To Add an Employment Policy Setting, you can go to the Policy itself and select Edit from the top left corner:

After this, click Setting or New:

Choosing Setting will allow you to edit the policy setting that is already present on the policy, but New will allow you to add a completely new policy.

Alternatively, you can go to the Employment Settings via the left-side navigation menu:

After this, select Add Employment Setting:

You'll then be redirected to the following screen:

Setting Name This will allow you to name your employment setting.
Setting Type

Variety of different types, the majority of our customers keep it at Length of Service - Leave Allocation.

The options available under Setting Type are:

Leave Allocation Policy This is the standard convention for employee; their entitlement is base on how long they have worked at a company.
Child Policy This is defined by how much adjustments an employee can get, dependent on how many children they have.
Age Policy This is a leave adjustment that will specify how much of an
adjustment someone will get dependent on their age.
Carry Over Policy This is a carryover policy that will say how much (maximum) an
employee can take from one leave year to the next.
Other Settings These involve whether the allocation is to be entered in Days
or Hours, as well as whether the allocation being either
Inclusive or Exclusive of public holiday, and whether there
should be any PTO accrual options.
Personal Time Off (PTO) Accrual Options Divides the leave up throughout the year where the employee
is given a certain amount of allocation on a daily, weekly,
fortnightly or monthly basis, known as the accrual rate. They
can also then get the accrual at either the start of the period,
end of the period or start of the next period e.g. January’s
allocation would be available in February.
Usage Shows where the employment setting is being used.
