How to Add and Change a Working Pattern

Maintaining accurate working patterns on the employee records will provide you with the most accurate data when it comes to leave allocation's being prorated by APHR automatically. 


Instructions to add a working pattern


Use the below steps to add a working pattern


Step 1: Open the employee record

  • Search for the employee record that requires updating using the employee search
  • Select the employee record to open it


Step 2: Select the working pattern tab

  • The working pattern tab contains the Policy dropdown and working days and hours options


Step 3: Amend the working days and hours

  • To set the working days deselect any non-working days
  • To set the working hours, enter the accurate start and end time of the shift, as well as any break hours


Step 4: Save the employee record

  • Save the record to apply the working patten and update the employee calendar
  • This will also re-calculate the leave allocation if the employee has been set up with an employment policy





Instructions to change a working pattern


Use the below steps to change a working pattern


Step 1: Open the employee record


Step 2: Select the Working Pattern tab


Step 3: Select Add

  • You will then be redirected to a new form


Step 4: Enter an end date

  • This is the only action required at this stage
  • The end date should be a day before the new pattern is due to start

Example: If the new pattern starts on the 1st of October, the end date should be 30th September.


Step 5: Save the record and return to the working pattern tab

  • After entering the end date ONLY, select the Save button
  • Once the screen refreshes, select Return to Profile
  • You will be returned to the employee details tab; from here, select the working pattern tab once more

Step 6: Amend the working days and hours

  • Update the working days and hours to reflect the new working pattern for the employee


Step 7: Save the employee profile to apply the changes
